Revox B-77 je najpopularniji magnetofon poznatog švajcarskog proizvođača audio opreme STUDER/REVOX. Studer je bila marka profesionalne tehnike dok je Revox bio marka kućne Hi-Fi tehnike. Studer je osnovao Willi Studer 1948. godine i brzo je ušao u svijet audio uređaja prepravljajući američke magnetofone firme Traco Trading Company, Ltd koji su imali puno mana i kao takav se nije mogao prodavati u Evropi.

Prvi Revox magnetofon je predstavljen 1952. godine, to je bio Revox T-26, naslednik Dynavox 100 magnetofona. Model A-36 je predstavljen 1954. godine, model B-36 je predstavljen 1956. godine i bio je prvi troglavi magnetofon dok je D-36 iz 1960. godine bio prvi stereo model. Revox A-77 je predstavljen 1967. godine i bio je jedan od njihovih najuspješnijih modela, prodat u 400.000 primjeraka. Revox B-77 je predstavljen 1977. godine, osim standardno vrhunskog kvaliteta, imao je fantastičan dizajn i kao takav i danas je na cijeni kod ljubitelja magnetofona. Profesionalna verzija ovog magnetofona je imala oznaku PR-99 i predstavljena je 1982. godine. Poslednji Revox magnetofon je predstavljen 1988. godine pod oznakom C-270.
